INSANE TERRAIN CHALLENGE RIDE
Saturday, July 11, 2009 — 6:30 AM
Brought to you by the Viking Biking Club (director of the Horribly Hilly Hundreds), the INSANE TERRAIN CHALLENGE RIDE is among the toughest Wisconsin cycling events. Prepare for extensive, satisfying suffering!
With two grueling route options (roughly 200K or 125K) designed by Greg Krystek (The Abomination, HHH), the INSANE TERRAIN CHALLENGE RIDE sets out from Blue Mounds, WI, and snakes through some of southwestern Wisconsin's most scenic rolling hills, averaging over 100 feet of ascent per mile on both routes.
This is a ride created not only for endurance athletes, but also for those of us mere mortals who simply crave a fulfilling experience: the mental and physical trials and triumphs of setting a goal, training, participating, and finishing!
The 2009 Insane Terrain Challenge starts in the village of Blue Mounds at the corner of Division Street and Main Street. map
All registered riders will receive an all-day park pass for entrance into Blue Mound State Park as well as shower and pool use. It is advised to park at Blue Mound State Park, then ride to the starting line in the village of Blue Mounds (approximately one mile, all coasting downhill).
Enjoy fully stocked rest stops plus secondary hydration-only stops, sag support, finish line refreshments, goodie bags, and a free T-shirt. Tech support will be provided by Erik's Bike Shop.
