I've seen lots of great cycling videos here on the Veloist and wonder what people use. I just got a Mino HD and affixed it to my bike, but it seems prone to shakiness. I'm wondering how best to mount it. What's worked for other people?

Tom,
I shoot with a helmet cam to avoid the shakes. And hand hold once in a while. I also have a mount called "Boom Stick" which is great for interviews and going slow 15-17mph. I love it.

This was recommended to me and it's on my BUY list. Hope this helps.

Looks like I bought the wrong camera!
I got the Flip Mino, which shoots Hi_Def, but doesn't mount as easily as the VholdR.
I'll have to get clever to make a mount for my helmet.

I shot mine with the vholdR. Look up videos by Bikewrench. I suppose the quality is good I wish I could get the wind noise to go away. All my videos were taken with the camera mounted to the side my stem.

Working in the world of tv and radio I know you'll never get rid of the wind noise, wind and mike's are long known enemies. Use an edit program and delete the noise and replace it with something different. A nice song or you're own comment...

I use a Mustek DV316L, a cheap light digital cam, it was about €30,-. You'll get the quality you'll pay for, but it suits me just fine, I only use it on the internet. When it breaks during a fall or else, it's replaced easy and cheap...

Tom:
Just ordered a ContourHD helmet cam yersterday after spending most of the summer attempting to mount a camcorder on my bike. No matter what I did I couldn't get rid of the vibration and shock, although I'm pretty fussy with the final result. It depends on what you will tolerate. The best was a RAM mount that was good in every way except the vibration. If I let the air out of the tires of a hybrid, it came out okay, but who wants to ride like that. Mentioned below, I saw a video on Vimeo of an item called the Boomstick 360. This is a two piece boom set which will manipulate into almost any configuration or weird camera angle. The length of the booms is long and it seems like this would absorb a lot of vibration before it arrived at the camera. The developer is a member here and he emailed me back yesterday. If you would like, I'll pass on info to you when I spend a little more time with him. In the mean time I'm pretty excited about the helmet cam that 's in my future. I kind of like the Borg look.

Jack,

The Boomstick 360 look perfect, but their website isn't loading.
Are they still around?
