To all the people who want to give him a pass because he was only joking, I think you should read the comments section after the article. To think his attitude is shared by so many is truly disturbing.
I think he is being marginalized as the days pass. Well, I hope.
He can't stand behind his comments, on this subject, and Hannah Storm for that matter, because everyone knows they are indefensible.

Avia Wildflower Triathlon
I'm a new member of Veloist and I have to admit that the way I stumbled across the site is I was looking through the internet for information about the Wildflower triathlon. I have been a long time cyclist but I wouldn't have considered myself to be avid until a year ago this time. - Hi Mike, I can't really say I'm a member of a club but I completed the Sea Gull Century ride in Salibury MD in October as a member of Team In Training. Until that point I had been at most a casual rider and now admittedly I am hooked. I bought a new bike in November (Specialized Allez Sport) and now I've signed up to do the Wildflower Triathlon also with Team In Training. The alumni for TNT get together to ride whenever possible and there are several local events in the Northern Ohio area to participate. Right now the only riding I get to do is on my trainer. I choose not to ride on snow covered roads. I'm waiting for the roads to clear so I can ride outside again. :) When weather permits I ride my bike to/from work (10 miles each way) Then in the warmer months I go for longer rides after work and on the weekends. I'm looking forward to exploring the website. Thanks again!
