mag trainer noise

Anyone have ideas as to "quiet" a mag trainer?
Even tips on maintenance of the trainer might help reduce the eventual auricular maelstrom.
Thanks,
guy

Dear guy, my answer is you throw the trainer out the window and go outside and start riding. Unless of course you live in Chicago where we just got buried with 10 inches of snow on the first day of spring.

While it did not snow today, the roads here in Toronto are still narrowed from the snow, and not exactly safe during the busier hours. I was hoping to squeeze 45 minutes in while watching the NCAA tournament today, but the vibration-style noise was too much for my wife.

Well, I don't think there is much you can do mechanically. It's the nature of the magnetic trainer. I think that's why they invented fluid trainers. You could try covering the magnetic rotor with something to baffle the noise. Or buy some ear plugs...
