I did that race out in Acton in 84', in the cat 4 race. I dropped out. Too hilly! I also use to do that ride that started out in Chatsworth. I remember a couple of guys that were on that Raleigh team that were real strong. Was one of them you? I remember the Montrose team. They were a real good team as well. Had a couple of Dutch or Belgium riders. I just spectated at the track races in Encino and the Olympic track a few time but never did any track riding. What make of bikes did you ride, other that Raleigh and Schwinn. I had a Colonago Mexico with Campy Record. Wish I still had it. That old Campy stuff is worth its weight in gold!
Bret,
Where were you based back when you raced? What teams did you ride for? I use to race back in the 80's around SoCal. I was wondering if we may have been in some of the same races. I was never a pro though. Just not good enough.
Thanks for the note about the Kenosha ride, for me it's the best way to see a town. I met a rider named Tony at the Velodrome, said he's been there since the 60's racing. Now he does the motorpacing. Judging by his Greg Lemond style helmet and glasses I believed him. Have a good one. ride safe.
Bret, welcome to The Veloist. We're just like you all about cycling. Nice fish. You ride that thing? Can't wait for the Tour, my son is in France right now and will see a stage in July, lucky kid. Where do you ride? Let us know. Ride safe. Mike the Veloist.

Ex-pro, too cool. Where did you primarily race?
So, being a Tour fanatic, who's your odds on favorite to take it all?
